Generating frenzied tunes of raw rock & roll endured by straight lyrics, Silent Friction's themes bring out blazing stamina to modern rock style. Formed in 2000 in Nashville, TN, Friction consists of a three-piece lineup fronted by Matt Bell (guitar, vocals) and completed with Nathan Hansen (bass) and Kelby Caldwell (guitar). Following a few months of practice, drummer James Nelson completed the group before the team decided to record its debut disc. My Crayons Are Beautiful, Just Not Magic, the band's first and independently released album, arrived slightly before the team decided to enter its first enduring tour. Performing in numerous locations and continuously receiving raving reviews, the Nashville quartet also began to gather a loyal fan legion. In 2001, the crew suffered its first lineup change when Nelson left; he was substituted by Dan Summers.
